This year I have rediscovered hand knitting and my blog!
Many moons ago when I was a little un..I won a place at the Ekka (Brisbane slang for The Easter Show) for knitting a pair of primitive looking bed slippers.
I am a fairly good knitter, tension is great and don't really do many slip ups.
But my technical ability does not really extend past knitting squares! (still gotta watch my RSI and carpal at times).
So I'm happy to say I've completed my first project by knitting a merino wool scarf for my loved one, Alf.
It's very masculine in colour & design & used mostly yarns sourced online.
Alf, I must say is digging it, after all this has been such a cold dragging winter for us Sydneysiders!
Knitting I have discovered has a huge almost overwhelming subculture and is a big cottage business. I'm trying to support Eco yarns and the Australian Wool Industry as much as my little needles can do!
I hope to make some cable little shorts just like those Miu Miu/Prada one day!
But settling into my next project of a doggie coat for now!
